Outline of Research at the Start

原子力発電は日本の主要な電源の一つであり、脱酸素化やエネルギーの安定供給といった需要から世界的な関心が高まっている。その問題点と
しては高レベル放射性廃棄物処理が挙げられる。日本では高温の溶融炉でガラス固定化した後に地中で中間貯蔵する計画であるが、過去の事故
以来、自国での技術は獲得できていない。本課題で目指すのは、廃液とガラスの溶融体の物理的性質を予測して制御する機械学習手法の開発で
ある。まず、高温実験と機械学習を組み合わせることにより、廃液ガラス溶融固化体の物理的性質のロバストな予測を行う。次に、より多くの
種類や量の廃液を取り込めるガラスの構成成分を決定する最適化問題に取り組む。
