Outline of Research at the Start

本研究は、大気中の二酸化窒素の生成反応を定量的に判別できる新指標として二酸化窒素および一酸化窒素の三酸素安定同位体組成に着目し、この実測に世界で初めて挑戦する。本研究が実現することで、対流圏オゾンの生成反応をはじめとした対流圏窒素酸化物の光化学反応過程を、既存の数値モデルとは独立に把握できる。既存の数値モデルの検証が実現し、より確度の高い将来予測につなげることができる。また、不均一反応のように、反応速度定数の決定が難しい反応が関与する場合でも、大気光化学反応過程が解明できる。これは大気光化学反応過程解析に革新的な進歩をもたらすものであり、大気化学や地球環境科学に新時代を切り拓く。
