Outline of Research at the Start

本研究では、近現代インドにおける住まいについての記憶、語りを、様々な地域、社会集団に属する人々を対象として収集し、それらの分析を通じて、「あるべき住まい」像の通時的変化をたどる。また、そこに現れている変化が彼らを取り巻く社会・経済状況や、自己・他者認識の再構築過程、社会集団間の関係性などといかに結びついているのかを考察する。具体的な手法としては、インドの異なる地域を研究対象とするメンバーが、それぞれ特定の個人や家族、社会集団に焦点を当て、住まいにまつわる彼らの記憶、語りを、回顧録、自叙伝、日記その他の文字資料や聞き取り調査を通じて収集し、それらを比較検討する。
