Outline of Research at the Start

高エネルギー粒子が原子・分子に衝突すると短寿命な内殻空孔状態が形成される。この状態は、電子やX線を多数放出しながらフェムト秒を上回る速度で脱励起していき、最終的に反応活性種である多価イオンの形成や標的分子の崩壊が起こる。本研究計画では、宇宙X線観測の分野で躍進的発展を遂げている超伝導検出器TESを用いて、高分解能かつ超広帯域(5 eV-15 keV)な光子検出システムを開発し、カスケードのさなかに放出される全蛍光を高分解能測定することで、電子状態緩和ダイナミクスの全貌解明を目指す。
