Outline of Research at the Start

生体分子研究では水溶液中試料をあるがままの状態で観察し、かつ局所的な構造情報を得る技術が必要であり、X線吸収微細構造（XAFS）分光はこれに適している。しかし、XAFS分光は化学結合に関与しない内殻電子励起を利用するので、結合長の微妙な変化には鈍感である。 一方、同じく溶液中生体分子観察に利用できるラマン分光は、結合長の僅かな変化を反映してスペクトルが変化するので、反応に伴う構造変化が検出できる。本課題ではXAFSとラマンの特長を相補的に利用した分光装置を製作し、NanoTerasuに設置して、特に硫黄原子を含む生体分子（超硫黄分子やSOD1タンパク質など）の構造解析を行うことを目指す。
