Outline of Research at the Start |
Inorganic lasers cannot achieve various visible wavelengths due to their inherent limitations. Organic materials are promising alternatives, offering structural tailorability and ease of processing for tunable wavelengths. While optically pumped laser exist, electrically pumped lasers are challenging to develop. This work targets this task by using a single crystal transistor of furan-substituted thiophene/phenylene co-oligomer. With proper device engineering to enhance the charge injection and the incorporation of a suitable resonator will enable the realization of this long-sought goal.
