Outline of Research at the Start |

Outline of Annual Research Achievements |
I gave in October a talk at the ICSTLL57 in Bangkok together with Sami Honkasalo, on the classification of Tangut; I was invited in the Academia Sinica (Taipei) by Jonathan Evans to give two talks on the advances of my PhD about Tangut phonology and grammar. I prepared another talk which took place at the Japanese Tibeto-Burman Association (2024.4) about irrealis, a topic on which I am currently writing a theoretical and typological study that may be important. I have a new accepted article at the Bulletin of Oriental and African Studies, and another submitted at the Cahiers de linguistique Asie Orientale on proto-Horpa initials. With the corrections of my PhD finally done, I will be able to accelerate the pace.

Current Status of Research Progress |
Current Status of Research Progress
2: Research has progressed on the whole more than it was originally planned.
Reason
The research is progressing rather smoothly, with five studies about to be submitted.
|
Strategy for Future Research Activity |
Despite the load of administrative work, the research is progressing rather smoothly, with five studies about to be submitted: two on the phonology of Tangut; two about its grammar; one finally about manuscripts. There is a big study on irrealis I am working one (about 300 hundred references, that I am daily reviewing). I had to finish the revision of my 800-page dissertation; the four talks I gave also demanded preparation, not mentioning the presentations I submitted (6, one accepted for the moment). The month to come will be important and I expect to submit 5-7 article before I go on the field.
