Outline of Research at the Start |
This research aims to understand the cell cycle-dependent regulation of dynein-dynactin-adaptor (DDA) complexes and its effects on mitotic fidelity. To this end, biochemical and live cell imaging approaches will be combined to purify and analyse DDA complexes throughout the cell cycle and subsequently analyse the effects of DDA complex regulators on the progression of mitosis. In addition to somatic cells, embryos from Japanese Medaka will also be used to uncover embryo-specific mechanisms of dynein adaptor switching.
