Outline of Research at the Start

近年、超解像イメージングに代表されるように、新しいイメージング原理やそれを可能にする機器の開発は、目覚ましい発展を遂げつつある。これらの技術には、蛍光蛋白質ではなくレーザー光耐性のある小分子蛍光プローブが適している。この状況下で新たに生じた課題は、生体分子をいかに蛍光標識し、その蛍光をいかに制御するかである。本文に示すように、本研究では、新たな蛋白質・合成蛍光プローブのペアを用い、化学原理に基づき蛍光スイッチ機能を持つ合成可視化プローブを設計・開発する。この結果、高い時空間分解能で生体内分子やオルガネラの動態を生細胞中で可視化し、新時代の蛍光イメージングを切り拓く。
