Outline of Research at the Start

本研究では細菌が放出するカプセル状のナノ粒子（外膜小胞）を基盤とするナノ材料開発を目指し、世界中の多様な海洋環境から採取された海洋環境サンプルを対象に、外膜小胞生産性に秀でた細菌を探索する。獲得した細菌群の比較ゲノムや遺伝子工学的実験を通して、外膜小胞の高生産を支える分子基盤を解明するとともに、それらを分子基盤とするナノリアクターやワクチン様ナノ粒子の開発を目指す。本研究では、米国スクリプス海洋研究所の D. Bartlett 博士との共同研究体制で取り組み、同研究所が所有する環境サンプルを対象に目的の細菌群の取得を目指す。
