Outline of Research at the Start

トルコは欧州圏内第3位の米生産国で，約116万haの水田で年間90万トン超が生産されている。同国の土壌pHは総じて高く，pH8～9を示すアルカリ（塩性）水田で定常的に稲作が行われている。本研究ではこの世界的に珍しいアルカリ（塩性）水田を対象に，イネ根圏マイクロバイオータ（細菌，アーキア，原生生物）の特徴と機能を明らかにし，また土壌炭素・窒素の動態を温室効果ガスの発生を中心に調べることを目的とする。本研究を通して，酸性～アルカリ性までの水田マイクロバイオータの形成機構の違いを明らかにし，現地における低投入持続型稲作の実現や水田土壌への炭素隔離および温室効果ガス発生抑制に資する知見の獲得を目指す。
