Outline of Research at the Start	日本住血吸虫症の排除を達成するには、患者の治療及び感染源となる動物への対策を並行して行う必要がある。住血吸虫症の流行が認められる国と地域では、特効薬プラジカンテルによる流行地住民への集団治療（MDA）が主要な対策になっている。私達はこれまで、フィリピンでの共同研究として（1）独自に開発した診断法（ELISA及びPCR）を応用した住民と動物での有病率の調査と（2）寄生虫ライフサイクルの推定を目的としたマイクロサテライトマーカー多座位遺伝子型（STR/MLG）解析を進めてきた。本研究では、これらの基盤技術に立脚して、ヒトと動物の双方を対象にしたOne-Health MDAを現場に導入して評価する。
