Outline of Research at the Start

哺乳類の体温は生体の恒常性にとって最も重要な因子の一つであり、中枢神経系によって一定範囲の温度に保たれている。我々はこれまでの共同研究で、体温の低下について、視床下部の背内側核の興奮、およびエストロゲンによる感染刺激への感受性の増強という現象を明らかにした。そこで本応募課題では、感染性低体温を誘導する新奇神経回路の同定を主軸とし、中枢神経系によって制御される体温低下機構の総合的な理解を目指す。一方でオプトジェネティクス法により、発熱中枢および体温低下中枢領域への脳幹部からの神経性情報伝達回路を機能的に解析する。その後これらの領域へのエストロゲンの影響について、標的部位および作用機序を解析する。
