Outline of Research at the Start

近年、超硫黄分子と呼ばれるポリスルフィド類が、ほぼすべての生物で機能する新しい生理活性物質として注目されてきた。本研究では、自然環境にしか存在しないと思われていた環状化硫黄S8が生体内でそのように生成されて、どのようにシグナルを伝えているかを明らかにすることを目標とする。S8の代謝動態と生理機能への影響を精査することで、超硫黄分子のシグナル物質としての挙動とその伝達経路を解明する。
