Outline of Research at the Start

本研究は、ヒト発生研究に必要な胎児マテリアルを入手可能な英国と、iPS細胞技術を得意とする日本との国際連携によって、T細胞の産生臓器である胸腺の発生機構を理解することを目的とする。具体的には、代表者らが直接英国に出向いて様々な発生ステージのヒト胎児由来胸腺組織を入手し、ヒトiPS細胞からin vitroで胸腺上皮細胞（TEC）へ分化・成熟させる誘導培養系で経時的に採取した検体との統合的１細胞トランスクリプトーム解析を実施し、その発生メカニズムを分子レベルで解明する。その成果は、ヒト胸腺の発生と関連疾患発症機構の理解、および胸腺機能不全に対する新たな介入手法探索に貢献することが期待される。
