Outline of Research at the Start

発展途上国では人が保菌する薬剤耐性菌が直接河川などに継続的に流出している。河川は薬剤耐性菌のリザーバーとなっていて、流入した薬剤耐性菌から耐性遺伝子がプラスミド等を介して他の様々な菌種に伝達されて、薬剤耐性遺伝子が拡散していると考えられている。この研究では、ワンヘルスの視点から人、環境、家畜などの分野で薬剤耐性菌・耐性遺伝子の拡散状況をゲノムの解析から明らかにする。さらに新たな抗菌薬開発も目指す。
