本国際共同研究課題では太陽フレア等爆発的エネルギー開放現象の基盤物理として知られる、磁力線再結合(磁気リコネクション)を介したエネルギー開放現象について、二流体・運動論効果の発現を伴う磁気リコネクションを介した粒子加速・加熱による大域的構造形成現象の解明に着手する。球状トカマク合体生成実験装置TS-6を用いた東京大学学内でのリコネクション実験に加え、高エネルギー実験条件の極限として、前進となる20KK0062で球状トカマク合体生成シナリオ開発の連携を確立したトカマクエナジーST40実験と連携し、高温・無衝突プラズマ実験環境における磁気リコネクションの粒子加速・加熱構造形成現象の解明に取り組む。
