Outline of Research at the Start	本研究では、フェアリーリング現象の原因物質である "Fairy Chemicals"（FC）に着目し、新規植物ホルモンである可能性とその生物学的機能を探索する。具体的には、非生物的ストレス条件下での植物生長制御におけるFCの役割、生合成・代謝機構、制御機構の解明を目指す。日本では大腸菌発現系を用いた実験や機器分析による代謝物の構造決定、米国では遺伝子操作による機能解析を行い、内在性FCの研究を深めることで、新たな植物ホルモンの可能性を探っていく。
