| Outline of Research at the Start |
肝細胞癌（HCC）に対する免疫チェックポイント阻害剤(ICI)投与時の腫瘍内免疫応答は十分に解明されていない。申請者は、HCCにおける腫瘍微小環境（TME）内免疫システムを低下させるICI非応答性因子ST2を同定した。soluble form ST2 (sST2)がSox9陽性肝細胞癌に対して抗腫瘍免疫細胞の浸潤を低下させる機能を発見した。しかしながら、sST2が細胞障害性CD8 T細胞(CTL)の機能不全させる機序が不明であった。そこで、ICI応答における最先端研究に従事するUCSDのAndrew Sharabi准教授の下で、sST2がTMEの抗腫瘍免疫システムを破綻させる機序を解明する。
