Outline of Research at the Start	本国際共同研究は、ミトコンドリア病患者由来iPS細胞を用いた解析を通して、いまだ根本的な治療法のないミトコンドリア病の病態解明および新規ミトコンドリア病治療法の開発を目指すものである。特に異常ミトコンドリアから細胞質へのストレス伝達に焦点を当て、ミトコンドリア機能異常がいかに細胞質のストレス応答に影響を与えるか、そしてストレス応答の変調がどのように細胞全体の機能異常を引き起こすのかを検討し、細胞のストレス制御という新しい観点からミトコンドリア病の病態を捉えることを目的としている。
