Outline of Final Research Achievements |
To understand immune responses at the feto-maternal interface during pregnancy, we analyzed relationships among immunocompetent cells, placenta-specific factors and cytokine networks using various mouse models. Tumor suppressor factors, autophagy-related factors, abortion-induced factors, diabetes-induced factors, blood pressure regulation factors and obesity-related factors tested in this study can affect kinetics of the placental growth factor and vascular endothelial growth factor, and as a result, their changes can induce abortion or intrauterine growth restriction.
