Outline of Final Research Achievements |
Plant mitochondria are small and numerous in comparison to those of animals. They move around and undergo frequent fission and fusion. To understand why they have such peculiar characters, I screened several Arabidopsis mutants with aberrant morphology, distribution, and number of mitochondria. Some responsible genes were identified and Their molecular mechanisms were analyzed.
