Outline of Final Research Achievements |
We investigated a role of a novel axon growth promoting factor Louts in neurogenesis and functional recovery after Stroke. Lotus knockout mouse exhibited inhibition of neural progenitor migration in the hippocampus, suggesting a role in neurogenesis. In the stoke model, Lotus transgenic mouse exhibited better recover of motor function compared with wild type, suggesting a new therapeutic regenerative strategy for ischemic stroke.
