Outline of Final Research Achievements |
To investigate social value of spectator sports, the present research project attempted (1) to compare the perceived value of sports spectating between spectators and non-spectators, (2) to identify the benefits of sport spectating, and (3) examine the effects of professional sport organizations on people in the hometowns. As the results of questionnaire surveys, it was revealed that the differences on perceived values of sport spectating between spectators and non-spectators. The differences between expected benefits before games and perceived benefits after games among spectators were also found. The findings from the internet surveys indicated that the significant value of newly established professional soccer clubs had positive and significant impacts on people in their hometowns.
