Outline of Final Research Achievements |
The purpose of this study is to develop a teaching method using a Medical Information System to train Healthcare Information Technologist. In order to acquire knowledge and skills by Healthcare Information Technologist involved in system improvement and system development, we developed several educational simulation medical information systems as teaching materials. These simulation systems allow users to experience implementation and construction of systems related to Web-based Electronic Medical Record (including order-entry function), Medical Accounting System and several systems (RIS, modality, PACS) related to information linkage in the Radiology Department. We used Open Source Software (OSS) and medical information standards to implement these systems. Therefore, the usefulness and importance of OSS and medical information standards can also be educated.
