Outline of Final Research Achievements

We have reconstructed the course of the folk revival movement in the FRG and the GDR and investigated its meanings in the postwar German music culture.
At the same time we detected the close relations of the music culture in the GDR with the west-European popular music, conflict of the folk musicians and rock musicians with the cultural policy in the GDR and the importance of the music and music festivals for the ethnic identity of Austrian Roma.
