Outline of Final Research Achievements |
I conducted a research survey of staged works written by Yoko Tawada and her activities such as readings, performances with the pianist and installations in order to clarify how important “dramatic element” is in Tawada’s literature. As for putting Tawada’s works on the stage, the results show that there are rich various patterns of original works, not only dramas but novel or collage of some works. As for Tawada’s activities, the results show also in late years her readings add theatrical elements and she began to play installations arts. From these viewpoints, the study concludes that the style that works upon viewers’ feelings and recognitions becomes increasingly become increasingly to occupy an important place in Tawada’s literature.
