Outline of Final Research Achievements |
In this research the historical formation of academic engineers in Britain was summarized on the basis of the career researches of academic engineers of individual engineering educational institutions. Researched institutions are the University of Glasgow, the University of Edinburgh, the King's College, London, the University College, London, Owens College, the Faculty of Technology of the University of Manchester, and the University of Cambridge. The object of the research is the academic engineers of these institutions from the opening of the engineering course to the World War II. There are 83 who became professors in some institution, and 140 who were staff (assistants, demonstrators, lecturers, and readers) of professors.
