Outline of Final Research Achievements |
Based on the three-year investigations to special needs school (intellectual disabilities) teachers, university students at teacher education programs, and staff members at Boards of Education, in-service training plays an important role to improve the quality assurance of teachers at high school divisions of special needs schools. This study developed two in-service training programs for those teachers. The results showed that understanding of "the significance of vocational education and career education" and "challenges in collaborating between companies and schools," and a change of “a view point toward students at high school divisions" were observed by implementing these programs. In addition, a seminar on the same topic for teachers and university students was held. The results showed that the participants obtained clues for solving problems such as "understanding of career education," "enhancing students’ self-affirmation and self-usefulness," and "a dual education system".
