Outline of Final Research Achievements |
We have constructed neuron network models capable of changing the fashion of coupling between created self-sustained oscillatory elements. In the adaptive network varying the coupling weights depending on the phase difference between elements, various cluster states have been found according to the evolution law. In the system capable of controlling the coupling symmetry, we have shown that collective fluctuations strongly depends on both the size of the system and the coupling symmetry. In the excitable adaptive network subjected to the external noise, we have found that coherence resonance (CR) can occur at the smaller noise strength, compared with the case of a diffusive coupling, and a small fraction of possible long range connections is enough to obtain a great enhancement in CR, i.e., the constructed network has a small-world property.
