Research Abstract

印刷・塗布・乾燥などの工業プロセスにおいて、ソフトマターの界面や接触線近傍の微小領域におけるレオロジー現象は極めて重要である。本研究では、界面近傍で起こるレオロジー現象をソフトマターのミクロ構造と結びつけて理解することを目的とする。平成24年度は以下に述べる研究成果を挙げた。
(1)粘着剤やゴムなどの高分子弾性体と基板界面で見られる粘着、剥離現象:対称な平行基板にはりつけた両面テープを平行に引き離した時の粘着剥離の様子を観察し、剥離における中芯の影響について理論的な解析を行い、剥離エネルギーを最大にするには、適度な曲げ弾性を持つことが必要であることを示した。
(2)高分子溶液の乾燥にともなうスキン層の影響:シャーレの中に置かれた高分子溶液が乾燥するとき、溶液表面にスキン層と呼ばれる膜ができることがある。スキン層ができると、内部に泡が生成されることがしばしば観察されるがその原因についての詳しい研究話。本研究では、乾燥にともなう泡の成長と高分子溶液内部の圧力変化の測定から、泡が溶液に溶けている空気によるものであることを示した。
(3)粘性流体から基板を引き上げた時、一定速度以上では、流体は完全に基板を濡らすことが知られているが、我々は、ある種の粘弾性流体においては、臨界速度を超えると逆に脱濡れが起こることを見出した。この現象についての理論的な仮説を提示し、臨界速度の見積もりを行い、仮説の正当性を検証した。
