Outline of Final Research Achievements

We have previously shown that intervertebral disc and macrophages interaction induces pro-inflammatory reaction and pain related behavior. We clarified macrophages existence in degenerative disc not only in herniated disc disease but also lumbar canal stenosis. M1 macrophage, which plays inflammatory and tumoricidal activity, is exists in 95.5% of herniated disc disease and 95.6% of lumbar canal stenosis.
