Outline of Final Research Achievements |
It is unknown whether habitual intake of sweet beverages causes change of taste sensitivity. To examine taste sensitivity after daily intake of sweet solution, we recorded whole nerve responses in the chorda tympani and glossopharyngeal nerves after mice were given 2 mM saccharin instead of water. Responses to sweet compounds were significantly changed as compare with control mice that were given water. Concomitantly, it was suggested that the expression revel of T1R3 mRNA was changed in accordance with change of sweet taste responses.
