Outline of Final Research Achievements |
The acid such as lactic acid which bacteria produces in the mouth is one of the cause of the dental caries. So we performed the development of the disinfectant and dental materials which acts effectively when bacteria was producing an acid. The one used for this study is an aqueous solution of chlorine dioxide. Chlorine dioxide possesses a wide antibacterial spectrum and strong sterilizing power on the very low concentration, and the safety to a living body is also high. Using this nature, the functional disinfectant and the dental materials have been developed which indicate the more strong sterilization effect when bacteria possessed an acid production.
