Outline of Final Research Achievements

The purpose of the present study was to evaluate whether the application of low intensity pulsed ultrasound (LIPUS) could accelerate orthodontic tooth movement using mouse research models.
A Ni-Ti closed coil spring was inserted between the upper anterior alveolar bone and the upper left first molar and was fixed. The amount of tooth movement was measured by micro CT on day 12. The amount of tooth movement of LIPUS group tended to be greater than those of control group, however, these two sides were not significantly different statistically.
