Outline of Final Research Achievements |
In previous studies, the effectiveness of a skin cleansing method (S-method) for infants with dermal symptoms, developed by a practicing midwife based on her experience, was confirmed, while suggesting the necessity of clarifying its influences on the mental and physical conditions of child-rearers (mothers) as practitioners, as well as the biological functions and growth of their children, to generalize it among the former. Therefore, the present study aimed to clarify the influences of the S-method on mothers and their children. In contrast, in the presence of dermal symptoms, their anxiety was more marked, and the proportion of those with somatic symptoms was greater.Based on these results, the simplified S-method is likely to promote infants’ circulation, and favorably influence their epidermal symptoms and recovery of the physiological function.
