| Research Abstract |
In this study, we carried out research on a multivariate visualization method to represent multivariate data and a multivariate analysis method to extract characteristic features for the Ocean General Circulation Models (OGCMs). In particular, multi-dimensional transfer functions (color maps) are developed in order to simultaneously represent multiple physical quantities. Furthermore, cluster analysis methods to automatically extract ocean structures such as ocean currents are developed and applied to the optimization of multi-dimensional transfer functions. As a result, we succeeded in visualizing high-resolution simulation data more intuitively and effectively.
