Research Abstract |
We found two topics concerning the body ownership transfer (BoT) illusion to teleoperated android robots. 1) By using a BMI-controlled teleoperation system, we found that intention to operate (agency) and its visual feedback are sufficient for BoT; that is, self body recognition occurs by much simpler mechanism than traditional theory. 2) Besides, we found that top-down stimuli such by social interaction do cause BoT, as well as traditional bottom-up stimuli such as correlated tactile/visual stimuli. From these findings, we proposed a new model of self body recognition.
