Research Abstract |
New techniques for the control of crystal nucleation and crystal growth by using a femtosecond laser has been developed. Nucleation can be efficiently induced by regulating laser-induced cavitation bubbles near gel-solution interfaces. In addition, high-quality single crystal seeds can be produced by femtosecond laser ablation of cracked crystals or polycrystals.
