Research Abstract |
In response to trehalose treatment in roots, defense-related transcription factors, WRKY10 and WRKY45, were induced immediately in root and then in shoot after 6-12 h. Pathogenesis-related (PR) proteins are also found to be induced in root at 2-4 h after the treatment and 12-48 h in shoot. Trehalose-induced immediate JA and JA-Ile accumulation, suggesting JA-related compounds can be a signaling molecule that delivers the signal from root to shoot.
