Research Abstract |
In order to solidify organ-tropisms of pathogenic microbes, we conducted the experiments as described below, using a neurotropic flavivirus as a model of infectious agent. First, flavivirus reporter virus particles (RVPs) encoding the red-fluorescent protein gene within its genome RNA, were prepared to be visible virus infections. Next, mouse brain slice-culture system was established to analyze organ-tropism of the virus easily. Finally, flavivirus RVPs-infection system on mouse brain slice-cultures was established. We might apply the system to do research on organ-tropism of pathogenic microbes.
