Research Abstract |
We constrcuted the attenuated human cytomegalovius vaccine which cannot replicate in human tissues. HCMV DNA replication and late gene transcription are not completely linked. Viral-encoded trans-acting factors are required. Recombinant viruses proficient in major immediate early and early viral gene expression and defective in late gene expression are therapeutic disabled infectious single cycle(DISC)vaccine candidates for the induction of cell-mediated and humoral immunity.
