Research Abstract |
To make infarction in the retina, we used two models.1) laser induced necrotic area. 2) Kimba mice, transgenic mice that overexpress vascular endothelial growth factor in the retina. We developed a method to detect these infarcted area with optical coherence tomography or fluorescein angiography. We attempted to establish a method to induce expression of neurobslastic markers such as Pax6 and nestin in regenerative Muller cells in the retinal infarction. The definite protocol has to be pursued in the further studies.
