Research Abstract |
We have generated disease-specific iPS cells from familial Alzheimer's disease patients with Presenilin 1 mutations (AD-iPSCs). AD or control iPSCs were differentiated into cortical neurons mainly containing glutamatergic neurons. The production ratio of the pathogenic amyloid beta species was increased in AD-neurons. Microarray analysis of purified neurons revealed distinct gene expression profiles between AD and control neurons.
