Outline of Final Research Achievements |
In order to obtain a new insight into photoinduced quantum dynamics, we have theoretically investigated effects of photocarrier doping in halogen-bridged platinum (PtX) complexes and copper-molybdenum (CuMo) complexes. PtX complexes show a directional photoinduced phase transition between two distinct charge-density-wave (CDW) states. We can optically purify the mixed CDW state by tuning the directionality. As for CuMo complexes, which are known as photomagnets, we have revealed all the possible electronic states and illuminated a microscopic mechanism of the photoswitchable magnetism. Furthermore we have found that the photoinduced final steady state can be regarded as a hidden state which is hardly stabilized as an equilibrium state. Our findings not only bring about further understanding of nonequilibrium quantum dynamics induced by photoirradiation but also stimulate experimental studies on photoinduced ultrafast dynamics.
