Outline of Final Research Achievements |
Phospholipids are asymmetrically distributed in plasma membrans. However, its distribution is disrupted by phospholipid scramblases, which transport lipids bidirectionally and nonspecifically. In this study, I investigated molecular functions of TMEM16 family members, and found that TMEM16C, D, F, G, and J possessed phospholipid scrambling activity.
