Research Abstract |
We performed laparoscopic sleeve gastrectomy against 35 patients. The average BMI dropped 45kg/m2, preoperatively, to 30kg/m2, after the operation. Comparing preoperative state to 6 months after the operation, the FD ratio increased 0.032 to 0.189(p=0.0002), the liver volume decreased 2,276ml(rt. 1,482ml, lt. 794ml) to 1,741ml(rt. 1,156ml, lt. 576ml) (p=0.008); almost the same size of healthy individuals. Type IV collagen, as hepatic fibrsis marker, dropped 4.4ng/m to 3.9ng/m in the same period of time(p=0.047). 10 cases has been diagnosed as NASH by perioperative liver biopsy and found remarkable improvement in NAS score postoperatively.
