Outline of Final Research Achievements |
In this study ,We revealed the mechanism of glucocorticoid induced overeating and obesity by considering expression of AgRP, POMC and NPY gene known as appetite-related gene. We produced CRH-Leptin double knockout(DKO, glucocorticoid absence) mice and compared to ob/ob mice(leptin knockout mice) about food intake, fat weight and hypothalamus appetite-related gene. In this study , the DKO mice showed less eating and obesity compared to ob/ob mice. And in hypothalamus, the expression of AgRP mRNA of DKO mice was significantly reduced compared to ob/ob mice. This study showed AgRP gene in hypothalamus has important role about glucocorticoid induced overeating and obesity.
