Outline of Final Research Achievements |
Retrospective analysis of 305 prostate cancer patients treated by low-dose-rate brachytherapy with 66 months follow-up was published in paper. In addition retrospective analysis of 178 patients teated by high-dose rate brachytherapy was also published in another paper. Although we tried to find differences between these two dose-rate brachytherapy and to make a tumor control probability model (TCP) based on these data, there was no significant differences as these treatments had very low recurrence rates and it was difficult to make a reasonable TCP model. We also tried to take a biological approach in addition to above mentioned clinical approach. Although we started to examine the relationship between radiation dose and DNA double-strand brake, there was no time to complete this examination untile the end of study period.
