Outline of Final Research Achievements |
Recently, microRNAs(miRNAs) have been emerged as important regulators in cell differentiation, but miRNA which regulates tenocyte differentiation has not been identified. We found that GDF8 promoted differentiation of mouse myoblast cell line into tenocyte through Smad2/3 signaling. Microarray assay showed that expression of eight miRNAs, including miR-214, increased after induction of tenocyte differentiation and Smad7 was identified as miR-214 target gene. Since Smad7 is negative regulator of Smad2/3 signaling, our data suggest that miR-214 promotes tenocyte differentiation.
